Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental legislation, including the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA).
- Conduct audits of mining sites to assess environmental impact and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with local communities to address environmental concerns and foster sustainable practices.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports to government agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Develop training programs for employees on environmental best practices and compliance protocols.
Required Skills
- Expertise in environmental impact assessment (EIA) and mine rehabilitation techniques.
- Proficiency in using GIS and environmental monitoring software.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting environmental data and regulatory requirements.

Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management or Sustainability preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in environmental compliance within the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale environmental projects.
Salary
65,000 – 85,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
