Job Overview
Lead large-scale agricultural projects focused on sustainable land use and crop diversification. This role requires strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and implementation of eco-friendly farming techniques. The position is ideal for professionals passionate about bridging technology with traditional farming methods to create scalable solutions for rural development.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute sustainable agriculture projects across 5000+ hectares of farmland
- Coordinate with local farmers, government agencies, and international partners
- Monitor crop yields and environmental impact using GIS mapping tools
- Develop training programs for smallholder farmers on climate-resilient practices
- Prepare quarterly reports for investors and regulatory bodies
Required Skills
- Expertise in agroecology and permaculture principles
- Proficiency in agricultural software (Agriya, FarmBeats)
- Strong project management credentials (PMP certification preferred)
- Bilingual communication skills (English and Zulu)
- Experience with drone-based crop monitoring systems
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Environmental Management, or related field. Master’s degree in Sustainable Development is advantageous.
Experience
3-5 years managing agricultural projects with a focus on sustainability. Experience in South African rural development contexts is required.
Salary
65,000 – 85,000 SSP per annum, plus performance-based bonuses and housing allowance.
