Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN solutions for the core network.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis to identify and remediate security gaps.
  • Monitor network traffic using SIEM tools, respond to security incidents, and lead forensic investigations.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with network engineers, architects, and operations teams to integrate security controls into new deployments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff and cross‑functional teams.
  • Prepare detailed security reports, metrics, and dashboards for senior management.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, industry best practices, and evolving telecommunications security standards.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF) and telecom equipment.
  • Hands‑on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
  • Proficiency in security monitoring tools such as Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight.
  • Understanding of ISO 27001, NIST, and ITU security frameworks.
  • Ability to perform incident response, root‑cause analysis, and remediation planning.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Certification such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or GICSP is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a large‑scale telecom environment is a strong advantage.

Education
