Key Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys to document cultural heritage sites and artifacts.
- Utilize 3D scanning and GIS tools for digital preservation of heritage assets.
- Collaborate with historians and archaeologists to curate digital archives.
- Develop metadata standards for heritage documentation databases.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders and funding bodies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in digital archiving software (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, ArchiMate).
- Experience with 3D modeling and photogrammetry techniques.
- Strong knowledge of South African heritage legislation and policies.
- Excellent project management and cross-departmental communication skills.
- Fluency in both English and Afrikaans is advantageous.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology, History, or Digital Archiving.
- Postgraduate qualification in Cultural Heritage Management is preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years in cultural heritage documentation or related fields.
- Proven track record in managing digital preservation projects.
Salary
35,000 – 45,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
