Job Overview
MultiChoice is seeking a visionary Virtual Production Director to lead the development and execution of virtual production projects in Polokwane. This role will leverage advanced technologies like LED volume stages, real-time rendering, and remote collaboration tools to produce high-quality content for television, streaming platforms, and corporate clients. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between creative vision and technical execution, ensuring seamless integration of virtual and physical production elements.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee virtual production shoots using LED volume stages and real-time rendering software.
- Collaborate with creative teams to design virtual environments, lighting, and camera movements.
- Manage remote production workflows, including coordination with on-site and off-site teams.
- Optimize virtual production pipelines for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and creative quality.
- Train and mentor junior staff on virtual production techniques and tools.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards during virtual and hybrid production setups.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in virtual production workflows (Unreal Engine, LED volume stages, etc.).
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling, motion graphics, and real-time rendering software.
- Experience with remote production technologies and hybrid workflows.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of traditional film production techniques and how they integrate with virtual methods.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Media Production, or related field.
- Advanced certifications in virtual production tools (e.g., Unreal Engine, DaVinci Resolve) are advantageous.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in media production, with at least 2 years in virtual or hybrid production environments.
- Portfolio demonstrating virtual production projects (available upon request).
Salary
35,000 – 50,000 SSP per month, depending on experience and project scope.
