Job Overview

MediaWorks South Africa is seeking a creative and technically skilled Podcast Production Specialist to join our growing team in Uitenhage. This role involves managing the end-to-end production of podcasts, from concept development to post-production. The ideal candidate will collaborate with hosts, researchers, and editors to produce compelling audio content that aligns with our brand and audience expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute podcast concepts, scripts, and episode outlines.
• Record, edit, and finalize audio content using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity).
• Coordinate with guest hosts, interviewees, and production teams to ensure seamless content delivery.
• Conduct sound mixing, noise reduction, and audio mastering for broadcast-ready output.
• Research trending topics and audience preferences to inform content strategy.
• Monitor and analyze podcast performance metrics (downloads, engagement, feedback).

Required Skills

• Proficiency in audio editing software and podcasting platforms.
• Strong storytelling and scriptwriting abilities.
• Experience with microphone techniques and sound quality optimization.
• Excellent time management and project coordination skills.
• Knowledge of copyright laws and media ethics.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. Certifications in audio engineering or podcast production are advantageous.

Experience

Salary

35,000 – 45,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience and portfolio quality.
