Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive groundwater monitoring programs in diverse geological settings.
- Conduct advanced isotopic and geochemical analysis to determine groundwater age and recharge mechanisms.
- Develop and calibrate complex numerical groundwater flow models using industry-standard software.
- Collaborate with government agencies and local stakeholders to integrate research findings into water management policies.
- Prepare technical reports, peer-reviewed journal articles, and presentations for international scientific conferences.
- Supervise junior researchers and field technicians during intensive data collection campaigns.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in groundwater modeling software such as MODFLOW or FEFLOW.
- Expertise in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and spatial data analysis.
- Strong statistical modeling capabilities and experience with R or Python for environmental data.
- Exceptional technical writing skills for scientific publication and policy briefs.
- Proven ability to manage multi-year research projects and associated budgets.
Education
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Geology, or a closely related field is mandatory. A PhD in a specialized hydrological discipline is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must demonstrate at least 5 years of professional experience in hydrogeological research or groundwater management. Proven experience in field-based data collection in remote or challenging environments is essential. Salary
The annual remuneration package for this position ranges from SSP 550,000 to SSP 780,000, depending on the candidate’s expertise and research portfolio.
