Job Overview

The Geotechnical Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in converting complex geological and geotechnical datasets into actionable insights that support mine planning, safety assessments, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and integrate geotechnical data from drilling, monitoring, and sensor systems across multiple mine sites.
• Develop statistical models and machine‑learning algorithms to predict ground stability, rock mass behavior, and potential hazards.
• Create interactive dashboards and visualisations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Python libraries to communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geologists and mining engineers to translate analytical results into practical recommendations for mine design, slope management, and risk mitigation.
• Maintain a comprehensive data repository ensuring data integrity, version control, and compliance with corporate data governance policies.
• Support the preparation of technical reports, safety briefs, and regulatory submissions that incorporate data‑driven insights.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in geotechnical analytics, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Experience with geotechnical software such as Leapfrog, GeoStudio, or Rocscience.
• Strong understanding of statistical modelling, regression analysis, and machine‑learning techniques.
• Ability to interpret geological and geotechnical reports and translate them into analytical frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in clear, concise formats.

Education
