Key Responsibilities / Job Description (JD)
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
Fleet Management & Vehicle Compliance
- Ensure all vehicles are roadworthy, compliant, and serviced according to maintenance schedules.
- Oversee vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdown management.
- Control DRS (fault reporting systems) and monitor closure of reported defects.
- Verify:
- Vehicle licensing
- Certificates of Fitness (COFs)
- Driver PDP compliance
- Medical certifications
Distribution & Logistics Coordination
- Allocate vehicles and drivers daily based on operational requirements.
- Brief drivers before dispatch and conduct debriefings after route completion.
- Track deliveries in real time and proactively address delays or route disruptions.
- Maintain and communicate the Vehicle Availability Schedule (VAS) to operational teams.
- Coordinate daily transport activities to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
Driver & Operations Management
- Act as the operational link between drivers, fleet teams, and operations departments.
- Handle escalations involving driver performance, operational concerns, and workplace discipline.
- Monitor supplier repair turnaround times and service performance.
- Ensure yard activities, truck wash operations, parking, and compliance standards are maintained.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate fleet records, compliance documentation, and operational reports.
- Prepare daily dashboards and logistics performance updates.
- Review, verify, and process stock return reports and credit notes.
- Ensure documentation remains audit-ready for inspections and regulatory compliance.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring operational issues and recommend process improvements.
- Support operational efficiency and cost-saving initiatives within fleet and transport functions.
