Job Overview
The Education Technology Solutions Architect will design, develop, and implement scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that integrate Microsoft’s cloud services, AI tools, and collaborative platforms into educational institutions across South Africa. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with educational stakeholders to gather requirements and define solution roadmaps that align with Microsoft’s technology stack.
- Design end‑to‑end architecture for cloud‑based learning platforms, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Teams for Education, and AI‑powered analytics.
- Lead proof‑of‑concept initiatives, pilot deployments, and large‑scale rollouts in schools and higher‑education institutions.
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and data‑privacy standards specific to the South African education sector.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to implementation teams, partners, and internal sales engineers.
- Develop technical documentation, reference architectures, and best‑practice guides for internal and external audiences.
- Stay abreast of emerging edtech trends, policy changes, and competitive offerings to inform solution innovation.
- Represent Microsoft at industry conferences, webinars, and community events to showcase solution capabilities.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in Azure cloud services, including IaaS, PaaS, and serverless architectures.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Teams for Education, and related collaboration tools.
- Experience with AI/ML services such as Azure Cognitive Services and Power Platform for educational analytics.
- Proficiency in solution design patterns, microservices, and API integration.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Project management capabilities and familiarity with agile methodologies.
- Understanding of South African education policies, data‑privacy regulations, and accessibility standards.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Educational Technology, or a related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Educator, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years in solution architecture, with at least two years focused on education technology implementations. Proven track record of delivering large‑scale cloud solutions in the public or private education sector is essential.
Salary
The competitive salary range for this position is SSP 800,000 to 1,200,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and stock options may be offered.
