Job Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager will lead a regional hub responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound freight, warehouse management, and last‑mile delivery services. Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, you will be accountable for optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and delivering superior customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Pretoria logistics hub, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
• Manage a team of supervisors, coordinators, and warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, customs requirements, and DHL’s internal policies.
• Collaborate with sales, customer service, and IT departments to align operational capabilities with market demand.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, and labor productivity, and report results to senior leadership.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for any operational disruptions or service failures.
• Drive sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint monitoring.

Required Skills

• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, capable of interpreting complex data sets.
• Proficiency in logistics software platforms (e.g., SAP EWM, WMS, TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education

Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations, with at least three years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience within a multinational logistics environment and exposure to cross‑border freight handling are highly desirable.

Salary
