Equipment Inspection & Diagnostics

The Diesel Mechanic will:

• Inspect and diagnose mechanical faults on diesel-powered vehicles and heavy mining equipment
• Troubleshoot issues affecting:
  • Engines
  • Transmissions
  • Braking systems
  • Hydraulic and mechanical components
• Conduct root-cause analysis to improve equipment reliability and reduce operational downtime

Maintenance & Mechanical Repairs

• Perform preventative, planned, and breakdown maintenance on mining vehicles and diesel machinery
• Repair and service:
  • Diesel engines
  • Gearboxes and transmission systems
  • Braking systems
  • Mechanical components and assemblies
• Ensure equipment remains operational and compliant with mining standards

Safety & Quality Assurance

• Conduct quality inspections and performance checks after repairs

Documentation & Technical Reporting

• Complete accurate maintenance records and service reports
