Mining Data Analyst

About Candidate

I am an Analyst with a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Wits University, with experience spanning mining operations, geospatial analysis, and mining innovation research. My academic training provided a strong grounding in engineering principles, mineral extraction processes, and industry technologies, complemented by practical exposure to GIS and data-driven analysis.

In my current role as an Analyst at RIIS, I support technology scouting, ecosystem research, and strategic analysis within the mining sector. My work involves structuring and analysing large datasets of mining technologies, developing assessment frameworks for mining readiness and competitiveness, and conducting desktop research on global innovation platforms, commercialisation models, and emerging mining solutions. I also contribute to stakeholder engagements by translating research into actionable insights for industry partners and policymakers.

Previously, I worked in GIS-focused roles supporting asset management, mining, and geological projects, where I managed spatial datasets, performed spatial analysis, and developed interactive maps, dashboards, and field data collection tools. This combination of engineering knowledge, geospatial analytics, and strategic research enables me to approach mining challenges from both an operational and systems-level perspective.

My professional focus is on applying data analysis, technology intelligence, and industry insight to improve efficiency, sustainability, and innovation adoption within the mining sector.
